Whereabouts is an Austin-based, five-piece alternative indie rock band built around hook-heavy songwriting, upbeat rhythms, and energetic live performances.
KUTX 98.9 FM has described their sound as “sitting somewhere between jangle pop and full on prog,” while calling their songs “thought-provoking” and “pretty dang catchy.”
Formed in late 2025 from a shared love of guitar-driven rock, dreamy textures, and songs built for the live room, Whereabouts draws inspiration from bands like The Strokes, Tame Impala, Beach Fossils, Summer Salt and Cage the Elephant, blending melodic riffs and vocal harmonies to deliver a sound that feels both fresh and familiar.
After releasing their first three singles in February 2026, Whereabouts followed with their debut EP in August 2026 and has continued to build momentum in Austin’s music scene, including airplay on KUTX and KVRX and its first festival appearances. With their first full-length album currently in development, the band is focused on expanding its audience across Texas and beyond.
